Module 1: Reading Emotions & Intentions
What we cover:
- Catching those quick flashes of emotion on someone’s face (micro-expressions)
- When someone’s words and their tone or look don’t match up
- Spotting sarcasm even when nobody’s laughing
- Figuring out what someone’s posture is saying, not just their face
- Picking up on the little signs when someone’s being left out
Outcome: You’ll get better at reading what people are really feeling, even if they don’t say it out loud.
Activity: Watch a few short video clips (no sound) and write down what you think each person is feeling. Then compare notes with the group.
Module 2: Non-Verbal Confidence & Stage Presence
What we cover:
- The difference between standing tall and shrinking back
- How to walk in and out like you mean it
- Tricks to ground yourself and keep nerves in check
- Holding eye contact when all eyes are on you
- Noticing and managing what your body does when you’re nervous
Outcome: You’ll look and feel more confident just by changing how you move.
Activity: Do a “stage walk” and introduce yourself to the group. Get feedback on what worked and what didn’t.
Module 3: Gestures in Public Speaking
What we cover:
- Using gestures that help your message, not distract from it
- Keeping your hands moving in sync with what you’re saying
- Highlighting your main points with your hands
- Matching your hand movements to your feelings
- Moving around the space with purpose, not just pacing
Outcome: You’ll know how to use your hands and body to make your talks more powerful.
Activity: Record a short “TED-style” talk and watch it back. Notice which gestures worked and which didn’t.
Module 4: Digital Non-Verbal Cues
What we cover:
- Framing your face well on camera
- Sitting up straight, even if you’re at home
- Showing emotion and energy on video calls
- Reading other people’s body language, even through a screen
- Looking into the camera so it feels like eye contact
Outcome: You’ll come across as more present and clear in online meetings.
Activity: Join a Zoom “class discussion,” record it, and review how you and others come across on screen.
Module 5: Group Dynamics & Silent Leadership
What we cover:
- Influencing a group without saying a word
- Using silence to lead or support others
- Handling conflict with your body language
- Showing support or disagreement with simple gestures
- Watching how the group reacts and adjusting your approach
Outcome: You’ll be able to guide and support a team just by how you act, not just what you say.
Activity: Take part in a “group puzzle race” where you can’t talk—see how much you can get done with just gestures and eye contact.
Module 6: Expressive Storytelling & Mime
What we cover:
- Showing a wide range of feelings with your face and body
- Moving smoothly from one scene or emotion to another
- Acting out a conflict without saying a word
- Blending facial expressions and body movement for bigger impact
- Putting on a final mime performance with your team
Outcome: You’ll be able to tell a whole story or act out a scene using just your body and face.
Activity: Work with your group to create a “silent story” and perform it for the class—see if everyone gets the message.
